Harjosh, an art and design enthusiast, has been part of the industry for over 15 years, working independently as a fashion designer and creative director.

Blending traditional ethics with radical modernism, Harjosh aims to cultivate a vision of restrained urbanity. His motivation stems from the tension between enduring classical beliefs and the emergence of innovative ideas, creating a dynamic interplay that seeks to harmonize the old with the new—timeless principles with contemporary thought.

Harjosh’s work is anchored in discretion and defined by its conceptual design, contemporary aesthetics, and functional form. His ideas foster an engaging identity, emphasizing ease and fluidity in every aspect.

Constantly concerned with search, timelessness, and longevity.

Beginning

In 2006, Harjosh graduated from the National Institute Of Fashion Technology in India with an award for creative excellence.

Amidst

He was then appointed as the head designer for menswear at Rohit Gandhi + Rahul Khanna. Post six years worth of virtuous work, he branched out.

Namesake

Post his tenure at Rohit and Rahul, he cultured his namesake label, JOSH GORAYA which essentially spoke of linearity in silhouettes, assortment in gender and identities, and longevity when spoken in terms of vanity.

Let's Design Competition

In 2013, Harjosh was presented with the title award for the prestigious ‘Let’s Design’ contest which was supported by Cotton Council International and Fashion Design Council Of India (FDCI).

Arvind x Harjosh

Harjosh collaborated with Arvind Limited, a landmark Denim and Cotton house as a creative consultant in regards to seasonal campaigns and their presence in media.

Runway

JOSH GORAYA, the label, debuted its first runway collection at India Fashion Week (organized by FDCI) with S/S 2014 which was accepted in proportions for being globally encompassing.

OCM x Harjosh

The textile giant OCM collaborated with Harjosh to create a selection of bespoke and tastefully tailored garments.

Fashion India

Harjosh was then featured in the book, ‘Fashion India’ by Phyllida Jay, published under Thames and Hudson, a book responsible for representing the history of the Indian fashion industry and its current form/relevance.

Onset

Harjosh progressed in terms of becoming an institution concerned with design at its keel. The orientation now lay with creativity as a whole and not just its dealing with clothing. Clothing, as a bigger agenda, was maneuvered under the typecast of CULTIVATION.

Atelier HSG

A multidisciplinary design and creative entity; Atelier HSG became the headway for further exploration for Harjosh.
